Events NAIJA SOUNDS AND VISION SCAPES (London Film Premiere) Please join us at 6pm on Friday, February 13, 2026 for the London premiere of legendary filmmaker, Femi Odugbemi’s critically acclaimed documentary - ‘Fatai Rolling Dollar: Legend Unplugged’. The story of one of Africa’s greatest unsung musical heroes. Through a career spanning from the 1940s through to 2013, his art defined a nation’s journey and laid some of the templates for today’s Afrobeats generation. From learning his craft in the Merchant Navy in the 1940s, and playing in street orchestras, he was part of the iconic Julius Araba Ensemble, with contemporaries like the great Ambrose Campbell. His solo career saw him nurture young talents, soon to be giants such as Ebenezer Obey and Orlando Owoh, amongst many others. This film sensitively traces his journey in music from humble origins to heady heights, and tragedy with the loss of all his property in the fires that consumed the home of his neighbour - Fela Kuti. Through to glorious Phoenix-like renaissance in his twilight years. The screening shall be followed by a musical performance - ‘The Lagos Jump Session’ by the Lagos Afro-Funk Collective. A celebration of the golden age of West African Highlife, Afrobeat and Funk. Booking for this event has now closed. Book Manage Cookie Preferences
