Join us for a chilled evening of drinks, music, and nibbles at Maquis London Bar ( top floor of the Africa Centre)  as we celebrate the successful completion of our 6-month Roots of Samba project, delivered in collaboration with the London School of Samba and The Africa Centre!  

 Whether you attended or supported the journey, come and jam to the beats, connect with the community, and toast to an amazing cultural experience. Let's celebrate samba, Brazilian and African heritage, and the vibrant spirit of togetherness!

Workshop: Roots of Samba

The London School of Samba will deliver a series of Samba dance and drumming 

workshops that will explore and celebrate the roots of Samba.

Time of workshop: 2.30pm-4pm

Join teacher, dancer and choreographer Adriano Oliveira - , for our ultimate workshop of the year exploring the roots of Samba. He will introduce your various styles of dance and rhythms from Brasil. The workshop is free and open level.

4 pm - 5 pm - Beginners Bateria Class - Led by Mestre Mags

The workshops will explore the polyrhythmic ensemble of a samba drumming battery (bateria). The history, rhythms, instruments and how they all come together.
