African & Diaspora Children's Literature Fair is a vibrant celebration of storytelling, identity, and imagination for children aged 7–12 and their families.

Hosted at The Arch, the fair will bring together inspiring Black authors, illustrators, and cultural leaders for an afternoon of live readings, hands-on creative workshops, interactive Q&As, and a lively market space filled with books, crafts, and cultural activities.

This is more than a book fair; it’s a joyful space for learning, connection, and creativity that centres Black stories and voices.

Workshop Title: Discover Africa: Creative Storytelling through Art

Join Onimaro for a vibrant, interactive session inspired by her colouring book Discover Africa. Children will explore African cultures through art, storytelling, and design, with take-home colouring pages and fun facts about the continent.

Bio: Onimaro is a contemporary Afrofuturistic artist and creator of Discover Africa: Educational Activity Book, designed to engage children with African heritage in creative, accessible ways.

Lauryn Rose Teixeira Workshop:

Time: 1:15–2:00 PM

Lauryn is a 12-year-old multi-award-winning author and activist, and Editor-in-Chief of Unsung, the UK’s first kids’ magazine by young Black writers. She wrote her first book at 9 and has been featured in Forbes, BBC, and more. Her session promises to inspire young readers and writers with stories of self-love, representation, and creative empowerment.
