Events Africa Centre Presents: Rhythmic Unity with Basma, AUKA & Saroor Come dance & connect at Rhythmic Unity, a brand-new monthly DJ night celebrating the sounds of the African diaspora at the iconic Africa Centre. This night will showcase top African diaspora DJs playing a vibrant mix of diasporic electronic grooves, fused with the rich rhythms of African traditional music. DJ bios Basma: Basma is the host of Khartoum Arrivals on NTS Radio and the co-host of radio show and record label Hear, Sense and Feel. She plays music inspired by the long road, drawing from the wedding anthems and eclectic folk of Sudan, the Sahel, the Horn and beyond. @ogbasma AUKA: Former Worldwide FM resident AUKA’s bass-heavy, percussive sound celebrates the mighty continents of Africa, South America, and the beating heart of the diaspora. London-born, of South African, Chilean, and Welsh heritage, AUKA’s deep bags of global heaters have made her a regular feature on the UK circuit and beyond. She has hosted shows on Balamii Radio and Foundation FM alongside her work as a trombonist, artist and founder. Saroor: Saroor is a Sudanese British DJ. She creates a hypnotic atmosphere by incorporating nostalgic sounds from the SWANA region with more western electronic music styles, a tribute to the diasporic experience. She features on Rinse FM, Balamii radio, swu.fm, and legendary venues FOLD, Corsica Studios and Colour Factory. @sarrah.yassin Booking for this event has now closed. Book Manage Cookie Preferences
